I am Melissa Jordan, your professional organizer. I was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where I developed a fascination for foreign languages and cultures, as well as a love of the visual arts. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in cultural anthropology and foreign languages from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA in 1988.
In the years since I have enjoyed a multifaceted career as an interpreter and caseworker for Portuguese speakers in Massachusetts, and a medical transcriptionist, organic gardener, worm farmer, and composting educator in Northern Maine, Central New Hampshire, and finally Morrisville, VT. These work and life experiences have given me valuable skills and insights that allow me to serve a wide range of personalities and needs.
In 2012 I launched Jordan Home Services and received certification through QC Design School in Ottawa, Canada in 2013. I have also been a member of National Association of Professional Organizers of New England (NAPO-NE) since 2014. My decision to pursue professional organizing was in part an outgrowth of my experience helping to care for my mother toward the end of her life and working with my sisters to prepare for selling the family home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This decision was also motivated by a desire to share my passion for creating order, beauty and comfort in people’s physical spaces. As an organizer I am not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I will work hard to make you happy.
Earning my ASP certification for home staging in 2015 through StagedHomes.com has brought me full circle to my artistic roots. I am proud and excited to offer the new services to realtors and other sellers in 2016 and beyond!
I LOOK FORWARD TO HELPING YOU CREATE YOUR FUNCTIONAL SPACE FOR FUNCTIONAL LIVING!
